I have worked for several years in the SEO Industry and have come across many different theories, methods and beliefs that people feel directly leads to success. You can read about My Resume and BackGround in SEO Here
While many methods do work and some do not, there are some things to be on the lookout for when hiring an SEO Company to work on your website. Keep in mind this selection process should be very important to you. Good SEO can be costly but needs to deliver without putting your website in position to fail.
I can speak on this because I have worked with many SEO’s throughout the years and have seen first hand the methods that work and don’t. Keep in mind that you want to associate with a company that has a great reputation. Do your homework, this will be vital to your success. Read the Elite SEO Philosophy
And here are some things to keep in mind when selecting the right SEO Company for your business!
Rule #1 – Do Your Homework
The internet is a wonderful thing. It really is. It gives us the opportunity to do some background digging.
One thing to do is go to Google or Yahoo and search for information on that company. Most importantly put in searches for the company name and the CEO to see who you are really dealing with.
For example: put in a search like “company name scam” or “company CEO” or “company name scam” just o see who you are dealing with.
Rule #2 – What Do They Promise?
Here is a great way to weed out the Good SEO Companies from the Bad SEO Companies. If they promise immediate results and a certain number of links.
If they rely heavily on link numbers they aren’t a good fit.
The reality is NO SEO Company can promise immediate rankings and any SEO Company that does is doing so with methods that will get your website penalized and banned from ranking at all.
Rule #3 – Who Is Handling Your Campaign?
At Elite Rank Marketing our CEO is me, esteemed SEO Expert Anthony DiMoro. I personally work on your campaign.
Your hard earned money shouldn’t go to a company that hands your campaign off to a team of barely trained internet marketing ninjas that don’t have the experience or knowledge to properly deliver effective SEO.
While it is great to have a couple SEO’s working on your project, know who they are, AL of them.
Why pay for a factory service? Your company is more important than that.
NOTHING IN SEO SHOULD BE AUTOMATED!!!
Rule #4 – Perception is Reality
We all love to make our work as fun as possible but when it comes to such a high investment of money, SEO should not be a game or a cartoon.
The terms “ninja” and even “jedi” is used frequently in SEO. But why? SEO Ninja, Link Ninja, Internet Marketing Ninja, SEO Jedi, Link Jedi, etc, etc.
At Elite Rank Marketing we are Experts, Professionals and Business Owner’s just like you, who take your business seriously and treat it as our own. SEO is serious stuff and is vital in your companies success online and we respect it.
Remember what a “ninja” is. According to Wikipedia:
“A ninja (忍者?) or shinobi (忍び?) was a covert agent or mercenary of feudal Japan specializing in unorthodox arts of war. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, as well as open combat in certain situations.[1] The ninja, using covert methods of waging war.
At Elite Rank Marketing we don’t have to hide behind masks, hide our methods in shadows or go sneak around “in the stealth” to deliver SEO that works!
We are proud of and stand behind our methods. We don’t have to “trick” anyone. And doing anything “sneaky” puts your site at risk!
No ninjas/jedis = Good SEO
Rule #5 – Practice What You Preach
Let’s be honest the best way to sell a service is to display how it works first hand. Ask to look at some of the websites your SEO company owns.
Is it good?
Creative?
Innovative?
Or does it look like another run of the mill, made for adsense junky website?
Take a look at ours, it speaks for itself
Rule #6 – Change Isn’t Always Good!
In the world of SEO if your company has a bad reputation, your business is sunk. Search Engines won’t stand for any spammy, junk SEO methods and will penalize clients of SEO Companes that use them
Has your SEO Company changed it’s name in the past few years?
There is probably a reason. It’s called “Bad Reputation”. The only time an SEO Company really has to change their name is if they developed such a bad reputation for bad SEo that they had no choice.
Think about it.
Rule #7 – Keep It Simple Stupid
Just because an SEO Company has a blog that talks SEO all the time and a ton of language on their website that seemingly has a ton of SEO information, don’t be fooled.
SEO doesn’t need to be confusing, overwhelming and you certainly don’t need reports that leave you scratching your head. Pay for results, not for reports!
Bottom line is you’re paying to have SEO taken out of your hands. So let the experts handle it. None of your money should be spent on getting monthly reports filled with SEO mumble that you don’t understand and don’t have time to learn.
Let the SEO Companies that wanna talk SEO all day do it….
We are a company that would rather perform SEO!
There is a BIG difference!
Rule #8 – Let an SEO Company do SEO
Nowadays it seems like everyone claims to be an SEO. Newspapers, Web Designers, Programmers, Bloggers and everyone in between.
Truth is, to get quality SEO you have to hire a company that focuses on SEO and Website Evolution.
Let the newspapers stick to reporting news and the Designers stick to designing.
Most importantly, leave the SEO to the SEO’s!
Rule #9 – Budget Is Everything!
SEO costs money. It doesn’t have to break your bank and can be affordable but never go with SEO companies that offer significant price reductions from top level SEO Companies.
Remember, that you get what you pay for.
There is no such thing as “cheap SEO”, that term means “Junk SEO”. While SEO is very important, having the budget for quality SEO is just as vital.
Keep in mind that if you pay for cheap SEO you will get horrible SEO that could bury your website. If your website is buried with horrible SEO you’re company is either dead or you will have to invest ten times more money into reviving it.
SEO is not a discount market.
